Berlin Sweets Market: Christmas Edition
If you have a sweet tooth then you are in for a real treat! More than 40 local chocolate, sweet and pastry manufacturers come together to offer their delectable delights at the Christmas edition of the Berlin Sweets Market in Berlin!
The best Christmas treats in Berlin
Enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with handmade sweets, pastries, cookies and more at the Merry Naschmarkt (Sweet Market) in Kreuzberg’s Markthalle Neun. A one-stop-shop for the best and freshest cakes, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, macaroons, chocolates and more, this market only features goodies made by local bakeries, pastry chefs and sweet manufacturers.
Organised by the Markthalle Neun, together with Slow Food Berlin and the Office for Culinary Measures, this year’s event sees the Berlin Sweet Market pay special attention to nuts, due to the important role they have in Christmas baking. A programme of events focusing on all the nuts will take place throughout the afternoon, which invites little ones to work with nuts at BackWerkstatt and adults to taste creations with nuts in the Naschlabor.
Sweet, cookies, cakes and more!
In addition to offering a variety of sweet concoctions, visitors can also sample traditional Christmas goodies like gingerbread, Berlin bread and cinnamon stars. After all, the Naschmarkt derives its name from the German verb naschen, which means “to nibble”, so visitors can expect to find plenty of sweet regional specialities to munch on.
Best of all, everything on offer is made to the highest standard and follows a conscientious production procedure, according to the strict slow food criteria. This means there are no preservatives, chemicals, or fillers allowed.
