Let's celebrate: The Heidelberger Frühling Streichquartettfest will be 20 years old in 2025! This year it is dedicated to German composer Helmut Lachenmann, who will also be celebrating an anniversary in 2025: his 90th birthday.

The Heidelberg String Quartet Festival

Firmly established on the agenda of classical music fans in Germany, the Heidelberg String Quartet Festival is an unmissable celebration of both incredible composers and internationally renowned musicians.

In its 20th anniversary year, the works of Helmut Lachenmann are placed foremost, complemented with those of Béla Bartók and Ludwig van Beethoven. This programming is designed to show how music has changed through time, while keeping the same instruments and spirit of freedom.

With five international string quartets, plus workshops and a talk with Lachenmann himself, these four days are packed with events for the quartet-lover.
