[Video] German nightclub holds world's first drive-in rave
Coronavirus social distancing regulations have meant that larger gatherings are no longer possible in most parts of the world. While this might have put a dampener on many of our spring and summer plans, it has also led to the birth of some ingenious and extremely creative ways of having fun while staying safe.
Germany’s first drive in rave
On the night of May 1, 2020, Germany held its first ever drive-in rave. The rave took place in the car park of Club Index in Schüttorf and saw a turnout of around 500 participants in 250 cars. Dutch DJ Devin Wild headlined the event with a track he had created especially for this event, called “Hit your Horn”. Other DJs included Nitefield and MarvU.
The crowd gave feedback and responded to the DJ’s cues by pushing their horns and flashing their lights in time to the music. Fireworks, lasers and smoke were all part of this incredible night.
So, if you’re a rave lover, or even simply curious about how this strange-sounding event actually took place, take a look at this video shared by DJ Devin Wild on Twitter, revealing how you can be social while social distancing.
