Nuns and monks enlisted to test new Europa-Park rollercoaster
A group of nuns and monks from Engelberg, Switzerland were recently invited to test out one of Europa-Park’s new rollercoasters - not an undertaking for the faint of heart.
Swiss nuns and monks take a ride at Europa-Park
A group of Swiss nuns and monks from a Benedictine monastery in Engelberg were recently granted the opportunity to take a spin on Europa-Park’s newest ride, the Voltron Nevera rollercoaster.
Invited to the park in Baden-Württemberg by owner Roland Mack, the group included former circus and Europa-Park pastor Ernst Heller, Abbess Rut-Marie Buschor and Prioress Gabriela Fleischer.
Having said their prayers and ridden the loops unscathed, a Europa-Park press release reported that the Voltron Nevera was a “source of excitement and left a lasting impression on the clergy”.
Abbot blesses Europa-Park Croatian chapel
During their visit, the group were also invited to take a tour of the new Croatia section of the park’s 16 European country-themed areas.
Abbott Christian Heller, also part of the group, took the opportunity to bless a small stone chapel in “Croatia” which is home to a Madonna stone statue based on that of the Međugorje Catholic pilgrimage site in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
